FFA horticulture students have been busy learning how to germinate plants, maintain records, care for various species, and develop marketing strategies in preparation for our annual spring plant sale. A major highlight was seeing our high school students host over 40 preschool students! Our members taught them how to transplant a flower, which each preschooler was then able to take home. Before heading back to their classroom, the kids took a tour of the greenhouse to learn about the different flowers and vegetables growing inside. It was a wonderful day of mentorship and learning!
Deer Park FFA is in full swing this spring! Between traveling for competitions, sharpening skills at leadership events, and putting in hours at the greenhouse, our members have been staying incredibly busy. A highlight from March was the State Trapshooting competition in East Wenatchee; in a field of 63 teams from across the state, Deer Park put on a fantastic showing and placed in the top 20. More FFA highlights are to come!
