The Deer Park School District Board of Directors is seeking to fill an open position. Residents of the school district may apply to fill the unexpired term ending December 2027. Applicants interested in serving must reside in the Deer Park School District #414. The Deer Park School District map is available on the website: www.dpsd.org.
The vacancy on the five-member board will be filled through an application and selection process per Washington State Law. The remaining School Board members will review materials and will conduct an interview with the applicants in an open public meeting. All citizens are invited to nominate candidates for the position, provided that the nominees will be eligible registered voters who reside in the Director district. Deer Park residents who are interested in the vacant seat must submit a letter of interest and resume to: Alexa Allman, alexa.allman@dpsdmail.org or 509-464-5507. Our students at the Arcaida had a fabulous Field Day yesterday to celebrate the last full day of school. The rain didn't stop this annual tradition, and students embraced the weather with smiles and enthusiasm. The day included snow cones, track events, and activity stations that kept everyone moving and having fun. A huge thank you goes out to the staff, volunteers, and organizers who helped make the day such a success. Even with a little rain, it was a fantastic day at Arcadia.

Deer Park fourth graders enjoyed a walking field trip to the fire station! This community partnership has become a cherished annual tradition that fourth-grade teachers and students look forward to each year. Along the way, local community members honked and waved at the students, making the walk even more memorable.
At the fire station, students rotated through a variety of hands-on learning stations led by firefighters. This year, they even had the opportunity to tour both an ambulance and a fire truck. After a fun and educational morning, students enjoyed pizza generously donated by our amazing PTCA and shared lunch together at Perrin’s Field.

The weather was perfect for families to enjoy the end-of-the-year family picnic at Arcadia Elementary! Many thanks to all who were able to join the students and staff. What fun!
The first-ever Arcadia Cornhole Club was hosted today! Twenty 5th graders got to participate, and they finished with a final championship match. The winning team took home a set of some super fun cornhole bags. What a blast! We love to see kids having fun and learning great sportsmanship by cheering on their classmates.

States can provide $40 per summer month per child to families with eligible school-age children for them to buy groceries, similar to how USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are used.
If you didn’t fill out a free or reduced lunch form this year because school meals are already free, you could be missing out on the new Summer EBT Program! Students who qualify for Free or Reduced school meals at Deer Park Elementary, Arcadia Elementary, Deer Park Middle School, and Deer Park High School are eligible to receive $120 for summer groceries.
To qualify for Summer EBT, families must complete the Free and Reduced Price Meals application.

Arcadia students came together to showcase their Tinker Crates! Using hands-on STEM kits, each student built and explored a unique project, then proudly shared their learning with their peers. With fourth-grade teachers joining in and a pizza celebration to wrap it up, the event was both fun and meaningful. It was a fun-filled and delicious evening last Thursday for Deer Park 3rd and 4th-graders!
For the Future Chefs cook-off, Arcadia received 40 great recipe submissions. This year’s theme, “Choose a favorite recipe from a country or culture,” inspired creativity and variety, with 6 finalists selected to participate.
A special thank you to our High School volunteers, our kitchen staff, and judges for making this event possible. We also appreciate the teachers, administration, and parents who came to cheer the contestants on!
